Copy text from an image.

On some occasions  we need to copy text from image files and copy it in a documents or somewhere else. If there are only few lines it is better to type but if the image is full of text, what will you do? There are variety of tools for character recognition and some of them are freewares. Here, I will introduce some of the freeware tools.


1.Free OCR
               This is an open source image to text converter based on Tessercat OCR engine. Tessercat was developed by HP. With this tool you can scan directly and convert it into text. After open your image click on OCR button on the top. The result will be displayed on right side panel.

2.Microsoft One Note
                  I think this one is best and handy tool to copy text from an image. But Microsoft One Note is available in Office 2007 and later versions.
  • Run Microsoft One Note
  • Copy the image and paste it in One Note.
  • Right click on picture and click on Copy Text from Picture
  • Now paste the content in any document editor or in Notepad.

















3.GT Text
          This is a freeware an will help you to copy text in images to Windows clipboard.  It supports major image formats like JPEG, BMP, GIF, TIFF and PNG.

  • Open GT Text and select an image.
  • Click on Tools then select Copy Text from and select Full image.
  • Now paste the content in any document editor or in Notepad.

Automatically post Facebook updates to Twitter.


Facebook is now adding the ability to post your status updates directly to Twitter, now users can able to post from Facebook to Twitter. Twitter limits statuses only up to 140 characters, while Facebook allows much more. It would venture to guess that statuses longer then the limit will be cut off and have a link to the original on Facebook.
This is so helpful for users who have a Twitter account but just don’t use it very much. You  just need to follow the below simple steps.....
  • Goto www.facebook.com/twitter/
  • Click on Link to Twitter button.
  • Click on Authorize App button.
  • After you linked your Facebook with twitter, choose the updates which you to post on twitter.
  • Atlast Save the changes.


Note: You can share only your Public updates to twitter.
This will help you to publish same update on both accounts.

How to find your Facebook profile ID.

Facebook profile ID is a unique number assigned to every Facebook profiles and pages. You can assign custom profile names in the place of numbers. Once a profile name or username has been created, the profile ID no longer shows in the address bar. Do you know Zuckerberg's profile ID is 4, and 1-3 is no longer exists.To find your profile ID, if you are using custom profile names, the following simple step will help you-
There are two simple methods;
Method 1
  • Goto https://www.facebook.com/
  • Right click on any empty area and click View Page Source or View Source.
  • Press Ctrl+F and type /profile.php?id= and press Enter.
  • The Profile ID appears after the highlighted text.
Method 2
  • Goto graph.facebook.com/viveknath322
  • Replace viveknath322 with your profile name.
  • You will get your profile details as shown in the picture below.

10 VLC Media Player Tricks

VLC media player is a free and open source media player written by VideoLan  project. It has huge number of users and personally this is the best media player for free of cost. You can do a lot of things in VLC like playing RAR files, play video in ASCII mode etc. . .Check out the cool features, you will definitely like this.


1.Make Artistic Sketch of video

To enable this effect Goto Tools→Effects and FiltersVideo EffectsImage Modification→
 check Gradient.

2.Play RAR files

The movies you downloaded will be in .001 .002 extension. To play these files you don't need any software to join these files. Just drag the first part(.001) to VLC player and it will automatically takes the other parts.

3.Play Jigsaw Puzzle game on video

To enable this effect Goto Tools→Effects and FiltersVideo EffectsGeometry→enable Puzzle Game and select number of rows and columns.

4.Add Logo on Video

To add Logo Goto Tools→Effects and FiltersVideo EffectsLogo and enter the file location of the image(jpg or png).

5.Inbuilt Video Converter


The inbuilt video converter can convert videos to most popular format. To Convert:
Goto MediaConvert/SaveAdd file→click Convert→Select Output format and destination→Click Start

6.Desktop Inside Desktop 


In this your desktop screen goes to infinity. To enable this:
Goto MediaOpen Network Stream(Ctrl+N)→Type screen:// and click play.


7.Play in ASCII mode


To play movies in ASCII art effect
Goto ToolsPreferences→Select Video→in right side click Output(drop down menu) and select Color ASCII art video output


8.Record from Webcam


Goto MediaOpen Capture Device→Select your Webcam and hit Play.

9.Record Videos and Mp3s


The Record button is hidden by default, to enable it Goto ViewAdvance Controls. Now you can see Record Button. While playing a video or mp3 Click on Record button it will start recording, to stop click again.


10.Make Screenshots


You can take screenshots of video while playing. Goto Video→click Snapshot(Shift+S). The image will be saved in My Pictures folder.

How to enable the New Google Bar

Google introduced the new Google Bar just a day back. Google totally redesigned its interface. The New Google Bar replaces the old black horizontal black bar on the top. With this new design you can quickly navigate between various Google services. This latest design is not launched yet publically, but you can try this with a simple trick.
Switching to New Google Bar is really easy, juzt follow the steps-

















  • Open www.google.com/ncr {ncr- No Country Redirect}
  • Chrome user press Ctrl+Shift+J.
  • Firefox user press Ctrl+Shift+K.
  • Paste the following code in the console window. 
  • Then press Enter and close Console window.
  • Reload Google and you have new bar.
